Now that we've sold the business...
...and now that Graeme had 8 weeks off and we went to Maui....
...and now that he's been back at work for about 3 weeks working for his ex-business partner...
...the next step is in place.
Graeme will be starting work for the Fort Saskatchewan Primary Care Network in the middle of April. It will only be a 0.4 position at this point, so he will continue to work for Conrad for several months yet.
The landscape of pharmacy is changing. The nature of a pharmacist's role is evolving. Graeme is on the leading edge of those changes, and so his role in this multidisciplinary clinic-style medical office will be much different from the days of standing behind the counter and filling vials with medications and counselling a patient with a cash register between them.
This is a brand new Primary Care Network, and so Graeme is part of a fresh crop of professionals that will collaborate in the care of complicated patients. He is excited, and therefore, so am I!
would love to hear more of these differences as his job takes shape - sounds interesting & challenging :)

ReplyDeleteDaysland has never been completely ruled out again... but it would have to take a *perfect* position to bring us back...
No Mark quit maybe 5 years ago. It was a young guy from Tofield - he bought Groves pharmacy in Camrose.
